basketball recruiting in Los Angeles. Zimmerman scored with 1:34 to play, drew a foul and made the free throw to pull the USA team within 56‑55. Newman's three-pointer moments later put USA on top to stay. Zimmerman will take some visits this fall, but none have been set. Michigan is on his radar. "It's a great school. They've been talking to my parents a lot," Zimmerman said in July. "I watched the championship game, got to see how they worked everything and how they went to the big guys. We run the same plays they run, so I watched how they run it and do stuff out of it." • Lakeland, Fla., standout small forward Dwayne Bacon (6‑6, 205, Rivals.com's No. 22 player in the class of 2015) and teammate and point guard Corey Sanders (6‑1, 165, No. 74 in the junior class) still have yet to set up a visit to U‑M. Rivals.com noted in late July that Bacon might be leaning elsewhere. "Four-star small forward Dwayne Bacon is an elite talent," Rivals.com reported from the Best of the South event in Georgia. "He's a complete scorer with the ability to beat defenders off the bounce or knock down a long-range jumper. Florida State seems to be the team to beat at this point in his recruitment. Many other high-majors are involved." • Big man and Michigan camper Noah Dickerson also played well at the Best of the South and has emerged as one of the better 2015 big men. "Dickerson has been very good for the Georgia Stars for just about the whole travel season, but you could make a strong argument that he had his best tournament yet at Best of the South," Rivals.com reported. "The 6-foot-8, 250-pound big man started the long weekend off at the On the Radar Hoops Elite 32 on Wednesday night by going heads up with Daniel Giddens of Game Elite and severely out-played the fivestar big man on the block. "Dickerson made a habit of scoring in double figures all weekend while also hauling in double-digit rebounds on more than one occasion. He established himself as one of the premier back-tothe-basket big men in the entire country this weekend." Dickerson added offers from Alabama, Florida State and Memphis to join Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Tennessee, Virginia and more. Michigan is heavily involved with the No. 52 player in his class. • Michigan continues to watch class of 2015 point guards Hyron Edwards and Sedrick Barefield closely. Edwards had an outstanding summer and solidified his offer from Indiana. If Michigan were to pick up its interest, Edwards (5-10, 160, East Chicago, Ind.) appears he would respond positively. He's Rivals.com's No. 91 player nationally in his class. Barefield (6-2, 180, Corona, Calif.) is Rivals.com's No. 58 player in his class. He's one to watch and does plan an eventual visit. He said recently Michigan and Kansas State were starting to make a "big push" for him. ❑   On The Web For regular reports on basketball recruiting, plus videos of all the top prospects in the nation and Michigan's commitments, visit TheWolverine.com.
