RECRUITING NOTES • From Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, the NCAA recruiting "evaluation period" is live, allowing authorized athletics department staff members to see high school football recruits in person. Notre Dame general manager Chad Bowden took advantage of it by checking out two 2025 class wide receiver targets: Jalen Cooper and Antavious Richardson. Bowden stopped by Cibolo (Texas) Steele Sept. 11 to see Cooper, who is ranked as the No. 19 wide receiver and No. 145 overall player in the 2025 class. He is verbally committed to SMU but will officially visit Notre Dame for the Stanford game Oct. 12. Bowden saw Greenville (Ga.) High's Richardson Sept. 13. On3 considers Richardson, a USF defensive back commit, the No. 51 athlete nationally and No. 121 prospect in Geor- gia. He will officially visit Notre Dame for the Miami (Ohio) game Sept. 21. • A key 2025 class re- cruiting target who plans to be in South Bend in Week 5 is San Juan Capist- rano (Calif.) JSerra Catholic linebacker Madden Fara- imo. On Sept. 10, On3 vice president of recruiting Steve Wiltfong reported that the 6-3, 225-pound Faraimo plans to return to Notre Dame for the Louis- ville game. It would be his fourth time on campus. He is the No. 8 pros- pect in California, and the No. 12 linebacker and No. 121 overall player in the country per On3. Faraimo is wrestling with committing to Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Texas and Washington. • While the visit is not completely on the schedule yet, the Irish are work- ing hard to get four-star quarterback commit Deuce Knight back on campus for the Louisville game. Lucedale (Miss.) George County's Knight, On3's No. 4 quarterback and No. 28 overall player in the class, remains pledged to the Irish despite unof- ficially visiting Auburn in Weeks 1 and 2. If the Irish can get the No. 2 player in Mississippi back on campus at the end of September, they will have to beat out the Tigers again. Auburn aims to host Knight on an official visit the weekend of Sept. 28 when it faces Oklahoma. The last time Knight was in South Bend was the weekend of June 14 for his one allotted Notre Dame official visit. • One Irish commit using his Notre Dame official visit on Sept. 28 is Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider safety Brandon Logan. It will be the three-star pros- pect's first time in South Bend since declaring to the Irish Aug. 10. The 6-foot, 180-pound Logan is On3's No. 9 player in Indiana and No. 40 safety in America. He is also an outstanding baseball prospect and will play for coach Shawn Stiffler's program in the outfield. — Kyle Kelly Follow @ByKyleKelly on X for daily recruiting updates on BlueandGold.com!
