22 SEPT. 21, 2024 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED SECOND QUARTER NOTRE DAME 42, PURDUE 0 Top moment: With Notre Dame graduate student defensive tackle Rylie Mills draped all over him, Card made the poor decision of shoving the ball with his left hand to no one in particu- lar. Traore caught it and ran 34 yards to the house for a pick six. Feature performer: Leonard rushed for two more touchdowns, including a 34-yarder down the left sideline with multiple broken tackles. He finished the quarter with 6 carries for 67 yards, as well as 5-of-8 passing for 65 yards. Stats: Notre Dame outgained Purdue 219-19. The Irish went 4 of 5 on third downs to the Boilermakers' 0 of 3. Angeli hit him for a 28- yard score, the team's first touchdown pass of the season. Feature performer: Angeli com- pleted 4 of 5 throws for 83 yards with that score, along with a 29-yard run, in his 2024 debut. Stats: Notre Dame averaged 9.8 yards per play to Purdue's 5.8.
