52 THE WOLVERINE ❱ NOVEMBER 2024 BY EJ HOLLAND When On3 released its updated On300 rankings for the 2025 recruiting class in mid-September, they included some in- teresting changes for Michigan commits. Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh tight end Andrew Olesh is Michigan's highest-rated commit and received a nice bump, moving up 20 spots from No. 67 to No. 47 nationally. Olesh made his official visit to Michi- gan for Victor's Weekend in late June and committed to the Wolverines just a few weeks later. He picked U-M over fellow finalists Alabama, Florida and Penn State. Olesh returned to Ann Arbor Sept. 21 for the game against USC. Olesh is the only Michigan commit ranked in On3's Top 100. U-M's second- highest-rated commit is Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga safety Kainoa Winston at No. 112 overall. The only U-M commit that moved up in the rankings besides Olesh was New Orleans Archbishop Shaw running back Jasper Parker, who jumped up 15 spots from No. 186 to No. 171. Parker, who com- mitted to U-M in June, has been a steady riser in the rankings across all recruiting media networks. Winston, who committed to Michigan in mid-June, just a couple of weeks after his official visit, dropped nine spots from No. 103. The highly touted DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) pros- pect was considered a Penn State lean for the majority of the cycle. However, new Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan did a fantastic job of winning him over. The remainder of Michigan com- mits also moved down on the list. Both of Michigan's edge-rushing commits received significant drops — Alpharetta (Ga.) High's Julius Holly fell 24 spots from No. 228 to No. 252, while Palatine (Ill.) High's Jaylen Williams fell 22 spots from No. 252 to No. 274. Michigan running back commit Dono- van Johnson was ranked No. 298 on the previous list but is no longer inside the On300. However, the Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy product did remain rated a four-star. Michigan safety commit Ivan Taylor received a minor drop, falling four spots from No. 133 to No. 137. The Winter Gar- den (Fla.) West Orange prospect flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Michigan in July. Kilgore (Texas) High cornerback Jayden Sanders (No. 205) and New Orleans Arch- bishop Shaw wide receiver Jacob Wash- ington (No. 248) both fell two spots in the rankings update. Meanwhile, Katy (Texas) Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh (No. 169) and Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith (No. 196) each slipped down by one spot. Michigan, as of Oct. 14, had the No. 14 recruiting class nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings. FIVE HIGHEST RANKED FALL VISITORS Michigan hosted a number of talented recruits in the 2025, 2026 and 2027 re- cruiting classes in September when the Wolverines opened up the season with a slew of home games, including marquee matchups against Texas and USC. ❱  MICHIGAN RECRUITING NOTEBOOK Michigan Commits Rise And Fall In Updated On3 Rankings Center Valley (Pa.)
