NOVEMBER 2024 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 27 tackle job over veterans Andrew Gentry and Jeffrey Persi, while converted defen- sive tackle Dom Giudice seemingly came out of nowhere to beat out veterans Greg Crippen and Raheem Anderson to start at center. Both positions had their ups and downs in the early going, with Link having struggled in pass protection, es- pecially. Senior left tackle Myles Hinton had probably been the steadiest of the five starters through six games, and his ab- sence (injury) was felt in the loss to Wash- ington. Persi started at left tackle and struggled. Crippen, meanwhile, got the nod and started at center due to a Giudice injury. "I'm always not quick to say how those guys performed up front. I'm kind of crit- ical on them," Moore said after the loss at Washington. "I felt like we moved the ball well with them. We did convert on some fourth-and-ones, some third-and- ones … huge. I felt like they played a really good game, but obviously we didn't get the win, so we've all got to look at our- selves and make sure we go fix everything together." Moore noted several details that needed to improve after film review. "Fundamentally, we've just got to continue to work on the little things," he said. "It's a huge piece. This [bye] week is all about us getting better at the little things that make the big things … and to get healthy. Having Myles Hinton back is going to be huge for us." Right guard Giovanni El-Hadi has started to pick it up after a rough start, but left guard Josh Priebe seems to have more to give. Both, though, have played big roles in a run game that's been good through six games, averaging 191.3 yards per game on the ground. That raises this grade quite a bit.
