Box 2331, Durham, NC 27702 Sophomore Jeremiyah Love's 136-yard, 3-touchdown performance in Notre Dame's 49-14 win over Army had Fighting Irish fans raving about him. Here's a snippet of the conversation that took place after the game at our message board on BlueandGold.com. Maxwell21: J Love is in my All-Time Irish backfield. That's all. Mizzo: He's so fn smooth and he just now figuring it all out. Next year he will be a force. NDchef1: Love's running style reminds me of one of my favorite old time ND running backs — Vagas Ferguson. Silky smooth. Ndrulzinwv: He got STUPID height when he hurdled that guy. Made it look so easy. mgormal1: Army players were in awe. He made moves that you really only see on Sundays. Mizzo: That spin he made when he was getting tackled?? Was that a 720° spin? I had to look at it 20 times and still don't understand it … lol. KevinPS: @fedman, if you're not the most senior member on the site, you're close enough. Where do you rate Love all time, if you please? Maxwell21: Been following since 1964. I put him in starting lineup at RB with Bettis, substituting Ricky Watters and Reggie Brooks as RB tandem #2. 3DVision: Vagas was awesome but nowhere near the speed of Love. I thought Becton ran like Vagas. Undirish2202: Dude should win the Heisman next year. Put him at WR. Put him with another back. Only time he comes off field is when he raises his hand. KWSUSMC: I love Vegas Ferguson, Allen Pinkett, Reggie Brooks, Ricky Watters, Jerome Bettis, Autry Denson, Randy Kinder, Ryan Grant and Tony Fisher. But who I really loved watching was Marc Edwards … J Love is very close to watching Edwards! Both, I thought, didn't get enough touches! fedman: Clearly near the top if you do not consider Rocket a running back — when at running back he was awfully dangerous averaging around 8 yards a carry. But here would be my "Bakers Dozen" of the top running backs that I personally saw play in the past 60 years at Notre Dame. 1) Ricky Watters 2) Jeremiyah Love 3) Jerome Bettis 4) Vagas Ferguson 5) Kyren Williams 6) Reggie Brooks 7) Allen Pinkett 8) Nick Eddy 9) Autry Denson 10) Julius Jones 11) Darius Walker 12) Jerome Heavens 13) Audric Estimé NJNative140: Loved watch- ing Lee Becton. Seemed to always make positive yards with a simple cut. When he and Ray Zellars folded up Der- rick Brooks in '93, I jumped off the couch. Power football. Loved it. Mallow Chant: Love is my favorite ND back of all time and that's saying something. He just makes everything look so easy. I think we overlook how awesome Kyren was as well. Dude was an All-Pro last year and represents the ND style so well. Toughness and getting every inch he can. FROM THE WEB .com .com Sophomore running back Jeremiyah Love racked up 136 total yards and 3 touchdowns in the Irish's 49-14 win against Army Nov. 23. PHOTO BY MICHAEL MILLER CORRECTIONS There were a pair of mistakes in the Nov. 30, 2024, issue of Blue & Gold Illus- trated that we wanted to correct: • In By The Numbers on page 9, the final number on that page was incorrect. Notre Dame's point differential during its eight-game win streak leading up to the Army game was reported to be 252, but the actual number was 258 (343-85, +32.3 per game). • In the Army game notes on page 25, the photo is of junior running back Jadar- ian Price and not sophomore running back Jeremiyah Love, who is referenced in the caption. Our apologies for the errors. BGI SCHEDULE UPDATE With a 12-team College Football Playoff and extra game(s) now on the Notre Dame schedule, the Blue & Gold Illustrated calen- dar will be adjusted as follows: • Issue 44-12 (this issue, USC recap) was mailed Dec. 4. • Issue 44-13 (January cover date) will be mailed Dec. 12. We will expedite this as a first-class mailing for all our seasonal first-class subscribers. • Issue 44-14 (February cover date) is still to be determined.
