The offensive line is well-regarded, and numerous receivers are capable of making an impact, a corps led by Roderick Daniels Jr. with 38 recep- tions for 599 yards, and Key'Shawn Smith and Jordan Hudson, both of whom have 5 receiving touchdowns. Penn State will have an edge based on the statistical trends that both teams have established over the course of the season, but it won't be a large one. That makes it essential for the Nittany Lion defense to regroup before the game kicks off in Beaver Stadium. Sophomore cornerback A.J. Harris said Oregon "played better" than PSU in the Big Ten title game but added that "we've still got a lot of football to play, and we just look forward to fixing what went wrong today." If the fixes are both applied during practice and executed on game day, then Harris and his teammates will sing a dif- ferent tune after 60 minutes opposite the Mustangs. They will expect to do so, and history suggests they will. But slowing down head coach Rhett Lashlee's attack will be no easy task. The Penn State defense must be ready for curveballs, and it has to play better than it did the last time it took the field. Victory will depend on it. The No. 1 team in the country, the worst in the country — guys still have got to do their job. "We're capable of winning these games. We beat ourselves at the end of the day.
