JANUARY 2025 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 45 ❱ FOOTBALL RECRUITING tremendous closing speed and lays the wood when coming downhill. Winston is always willing to play the run and spends a good amount of time in the box. While he's listed at 5-foot-11, 194 pounds, Winston — the No. 10 safety and No. 100 recruit nationally — plays bigger than his size and is an enforcer on the defensive side of the ball. He's also a special teams menace, blocking several kicks and punts during his high school career. 5. WR Andrew Marsh KATY (TEXAS) JORDAN On3 Industry Ranking: Four-star (top 75-100) Our Ranking: Four-star (top 100-125) The Skinny: Marsh, the No. 13 wide receiver and No. 90 overall recruit nationally, joins a wide receiver room in need of help and should be able to contribute as a true freshman. Marsh is a technical route runner, who also displays soft hands and a willingness to go up and get the ball. One of the best in-the-air pass catchers in the country, Marsh displays excellent body control and physicality. While he's not a big body at 6-foot, 175 pounds, Marsh spends a lot of his time on the outside and wins one-on-one matchups more often than not. He is also capable of making big plays after the catch with his power and toughness in the open field. Marsh is a willing run blocker, which should make him a good fit at Michigan. The biggest question mark with Marsh is speed. While he can stretch the field, he isn't a true burner. 6. LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng BRADENTON (FLA.) IMG ACADEMY On3 Industry Ranking: Four-star (top 175-225) Our Ranking: Four-star (top 125-175) The Skinny: Ranked as the No. 19 linebacker and No. 188 overall prospect nationally, Owusu- Boateng's ratings vary drastically from site to site. We see him as a high-level Will linebacker with a chance to make an early impact. Remember, Owusu- Boateng was at the very top of Michi- gan's linebacker board for the majority of the cycle. He did not play as a se- nior, which may be hurting his rankings value. However, he showed high-end athleticism as a junior and the ability to go sideline to sideline in a hurry. While he can add weight to his 6-foot-1, 203-pound frame, Owusu-Boateng does show toughness against the run. He is at his best when operating in space and dropping back into coverage. 7. S Jordan Young MONROE (N.C.) HIGH On3 Industry Ranking: Four-star (top 125-175) Our Ranking: Four-star (top 125-175) The Skinny: Michigan wanted to get longer and more athletic at the nickel position and did just that with Young. He shares a lot of similarities with Michigan safety Rod Moore and is a prospect who could get on the field early despite being a bit of a raw ath- lete. Young has the speed to cover a lot of ground on the back end, but he also shows the willingness to strike. He's a terrific athlete who doubles as a varsity basketball player and North Carolina 2A all-state fin- isher in the triple jump (fourth) and long jump (fifth). Young, who was a late flip from Clemson, has a high ceiling and was another fantastic flip for Morgan on the trail. 8. DL/EDGE Nate Marshall OAK PARK (ILL.) FENWICK On3 Industry Ranking: Four-star (top 50-75) Our Ranking: Four-star (top 150-200) The Skinny: Marshall is listed as a defensive lineman, but Michigan re- cruited him as more of a pass rusher in its defensive scheme. At 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, Marshall is a bit of a tweener who could stick at edge or spin down to a defensive tackle. Marshall has a narrow build, so it will be interesting to see how much weight he can carry at the next level. With all this said, Marshall is an athletic big man who spent his youth playing basketball on the AAU circuit. Ranked as the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 59 overall prospect nationally, Marshall displays a quick get-off and elite athleticism, which is clearly on display when he lines up at tight end and wide receiver. Marshall, who was a late flip from Auburn, also plays with power and violent hands. 9. RB Jasper Parker NEW ORLEANS ARCHBISHOP SHAW On3 Industry Ranking: Four-star (Outside of top 300) Our Ranking: Four-star (top 250- 300) The Skinny: Parker may be one of the more underrated prospects in Michigan's recruiting class. Ranked as the No. 26 running back and No. 356 overall recruit nationally, Parker has a tremendous senior season that saw him set records and lead his team to a Loui- siana state title. Parker displayed ex-
