FEBRUARY 2025 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 63 BY CLAYTON SAYFIE M ichigan has 22 for- mer football play- ers on NFL playoff rosters, including two that made the Pro Bowl in Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (AFC) and Green Bay Packers outside line- backer Rashan Gary (NFC). Both Collins and Gary earned the honor for the first time in their respec- tive careers. The last time U-M had multiple Pro Bowlers was in 2021, when defensive ends Frank Clark and Brandon Graham both made ros- ters. Since then, quarterback Tom Brady (2022) and defensive end Aidan Hutchin- son (2024) have been participants. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound Collins missed time with injury, playing in only 12 games in helping his team make the post- season, but he posted his second-con- secutive 1,000-yard season, becoming the fourth wide receiver in team history to accomplish that feat. The fourth-year pro hauled in 68 catches for 1,006 yards and 7 touchdowns on 99 targets. Collins and Co. took down the Los An- geles Chargers, 32-12, on the NFL's wild- card weekend, sending them to Kan- sas City to take on the defending world champion Chiefs. Gary said earning a Pro Bowl bid in his fifth professional campaign was a "sur- real" moment for him. The former first- round draft choice posted 7.5 sacks, 9 tackles for loss and 15 quarterback hits to go along with a career-high 47 total stops. The Packers fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, 22-10, in the first round of the postseason.
