Notes • Our unofficial count, done in mid-January, has Michigan with 100 players on scholarship. The new limit will be 105 beginning this season. • Years of eligibility noted in parentheses after player names; 2020 was deemed a "free year" for eligibility by the NCAA, meaning it didn't count against how many seasons a player has remaining. bama] 13 … you talk about explosive of- fenses that can put up points, especially Ohio. I don't know what Ohio was aver- aging a game — I think they were in the 40s and [Alabama was] in the high 30s. Our defense played incredibly these last three games, and a big shout out to Coach Wink." Michigan could have two captains back, as well. Senior fullback / tight end Max Bredeson announced his return for 2025, and senior safety Rod Moore — who spent the 2024 season injured — has yet to declare for the draft. Leadership doesn't just go a long way during magical runs like the 15-0 sea- son in 2023 — it helps as a struggling squad finds its way, such as when the Wolverines were 5-5 coming off just their second loss to Indiana since the 1980s. "Sometimes, it gets tested," Brede- son said of the U-M program's culture. "Sometimes, you really feel it kinda bending, and it goes right back to what it was. That's how important culture is, and that's when you really find out what it's about. "Some things happened along the way; we lost games, but it's what we were built on. Whenever it's time to put it on, go do it." Michigan has some more big games in 2025, including a Nov. 29 home clash with Ohio State. What follows on these pages is a detailed look at where things stand with the Wolverines roster that will attack those challenges as it comes together as Team 146 in Michigan's fabled history. ❑
