According to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, the Fighting Irish's haul lands at No. 12 nationally. Notre Dame typically attracts rela- tively elite athletes, and there is a con- stant narrative about "closing the gap" with the very top of college football. Is this incoming class a step in that direc- tion? Blue & Gold Illustrated asked a trio of national experts for their takes on the class. BGI: What are your general im- pressions on Notre Dame's re- cruiting class? How does it stack up against the other elites in the country? On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power: "Notre Dame signed a very good class in 2025. It's one that fits a lot of what we've seen from the Fighting Irish under Marcus Freeman. The strengths certainly re- main the strengths for Notre Dame. It hits needs, will replenish the roster and keep the train rolling. "When you look at the hallmarks of what Notre Dame has put on the field the last several years — the offensive line, secondary, physical linebacker play, versatile tight ends and well- rounded running backs — it continues in the 2025 class. "In terms of how it stacks up around the country, it puts you in the College Football Playoff tier from a recruiting standpoint, unquestionably. And we've seen the talent level between the top 15 or so recruiting classes flatten due to RECRUITING ROUNDTABLE National experts break down Notre Dame's 2025 class Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep standout Dallas Golden, who is rated as the No. 19 cornerback and No. 133 overall player nationally by On3, is considered a player with the talent and ability to outplay his rankings.
