The three-star re ceiver from Lake Worth (Fla.) Santa- luces High visited Ann Arbor twice l a s t fa l l , q u i c k ly developing a bond with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy and the rest of the program. He iden- tified a chance to make a significant impact on a prestigious program and jumped at the opportunity. "I get along with the coaches," Browder said. "I see myself playing there and being an impact player. I think they need some help, and I can help. I liked the atmosphere there. I play bet- ter in big games and in front of more people. I feel like it's the type of place I need to be." Browder finalized his flip after wrap- ping up a weekend with the Wolverines. He spent five months committed to NC State. His recruit- ment first started to pick up steam last spring dur- ing the evaluation period, and he pledged to the Wolfpack during a sum- mer official visit. Once he hit the field as a senior, he picked up offers from Michigan, Missouri and Kentucky. While the receiver re- mained committed to NC State, he took visits to all three schools. Michigan was the only program he visited more than once. And after that first trip, Browder already knew he had found the right fit. "It's one of the biggest stages, and I can make an immediate impact. It was a no-brainer," Browder said. The late-riser put to- gether an impressive se- nior season, racking up 1,137 yards on 50 catches while scoring double-digit touchdowns for the second consecutive season. Standing 6-foot-5 with a long wingspan, Browder is a dynamic jump ball threat, but he showed a lot of ability after the catch last fall as well. Head coach Sher- rone Moore loved his film, and he played a critical role in the receiver's re- cruitment. Browder believes Moore was the first Michigan staff member to reach out to him. During his Michigan career, he believes Bellamy will be more like family than a coach. The receiver really clicked with that duo. "They're real chill, laid-back guys that can get hype if you need them to get hype. I really like that," Browder said. He moved a long way from home in Florida to start his collegiate career, and he's ready to get to work after arriving on campus in January. ❑ Michigan Flips Jamar Browder To Bolster Wide Receiver Room As a senior, the 6-foot-5 Browder caught 50 passes for 1,137 yards and 12 touchdowns for Lake Worth (Fla.) THEY SAID IT The Wolverine recrui ng analyst EJ Holland: "Michigan needs size in its wide receiver room, and that's exactly what Browder brings to the table. At 6-foot-5, 208 pounds, Browder is a big-bodied pass catcher who can go up and get it. He is physical and a bit more filled out than fellow commit Jacob Washington. He also has a terrific catch radius and great body control. Browder can get more flexible and improve as a pure route runner, but the poten al is there."
