C O M Aiden Fink — Men's Ice Hockey Fink was named one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which goes to the top player in NCAA Division I. The sophomore forward from Calgary, Alberta, is the first Nittany Lion to be named a finalist for college hockey's highest individual honor, and he also recently became the first unanimous first-team All- Big Ten honoree in program history. Fink was instrumen- tal in Penn State's midseason surge that resulted in a return to the NCAA Tournament. He set a single-season school record by amassing 52 points through 37 games, a figure that ranked first in the Big Ten and second nationally. Fink was leading the conference in assists (29) and was second in goals (23). Tessa Janecke — Women's Ice Hockey Janecke was named a second-team All-American after leading the Atlantic Hockey America conference with 53 points on 24 goals and 29 assists. The junior forward from Orangeville, Ill., led Division I with 617 faceoff wins, 90 more than the next-highest total. With her assist on Penn State's lone goal in a season-ending 4-1 loss to St. Lawrence in the NCAA Tournament on March 13, Janecke tied the program record for most points in a season. Now that the college season is over, she will compete for Team USA at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championships April 9-20 in Czechia. Josh Karnes — Men's Gymnas cs Karns' 14.600 on the parallel bars against Nebraska was the highest score in the nation this season. Ranked No. 1 nationally on the bars, the senior from Erie, Pa., won that event and also finished first on the high bar (14.000). In addition, he posted a season-best score of 14.150 on floor exercise to help fifth-ranked Penn State claim the Big Ten regular-season title by defeating the No. 4 Cornhuskers, 329.050-328.850, on March 16 at Rec Hall. Following his performance, Karnes earned Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season, and he was recently named a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, which goes to the nation's top men's gymnast. Brooke Klosowicz — So ball Klosowicz was batting .500 through the Nittany Lions' first 30 games of the season, the third-best average in the Big Ten. In Penn State's 14-13 victory over Indiana on March 21, the sophomore infielder from Johnsburg, Ill., went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. It was the 27th consecutive game in which she reached base, a streak dating back to the Nittany Lions' second game of the year Feb. 7 against Texas Tech.
