TRACKING THE PACK

■ Life Imitates Art
While competing at the NCAA Tournament March 20-22, the NC State wrestling team found
time to stop by the Philadelphia Museum of Art to pose with its famous "Rocky" statue, a much-
loved symbol of the power of perseverance.
The Wolfpack embodied that spirit at nationals. The team claimed its first individual champion
since 2018 when redshirt freshman Vince Robinson defeated Oklahoma State's Troy Spratley
in the 125-pound final. Robinson, who had finished second at the ACC Tournament two weeks
earlier, was one of three Pack wrestlers to earn All-America honors at nationals. Redshirt junior
Isaac Trumble was fourth at 285 pounds, while redshirt sophomore Matty Singleton placed
seventh at 174.
Those performances helped NC State finish eighth in the team standings with 46.5 points. It
was the 11th consecutive season in which the Pack placed in the top 20 and was the team's fifth
top-10 showing in Pat Popolizio's 13 years as head coach.
