16 MAY 2025 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED ethic, but injuries took their toll and he wasn't the strong, confident mover at tight end that the Irish thought he'd be throughout the past two seasons. Price was a terror at running back when given open space, but if you could keep him between the tackles, you could bottle him up. During the Blue-Gold Game, Price ripped off a 22-yard gain and ran for a relatively efficient 4.4 yards per carry (which also speaks to the first-team of- fensive line). On that 22-yard scamper, Price showed some serious wiggle be- tween the tackles, made people miss in a phone booth and fought through contact. We hadn't seen that from him consistently in 2024. Raridon, meanwhile, continues to move better than we've ever seen him. He fought through and around multiple tackling attempts on a 16-yard gain, and he totaled 17 yards after the catch. This is, as he reiterated after the game, Raridon's first healthy spring at Notre Dame. "It feels a lot different," Raridon said. "Something that kind of feels ancient to me, being healthy and being under an offense that I've been comfortable with. I've had a lot of confidence and just a free mind, finally." If Raridon and Price both take that next step in 2025 — and it certainly looks like they will — it raises both the floor and the ceiling of Notre Dame's offense. LINEBACKER ROTATION COULD BE SHORTER Freshman Madden Faraimo looks further away from contributing de- fensively than pundits originally prog- nosticated; the short version is that he's fast and physical but needs more seasoning in coverage. Junior Preston Zinter played vyper during the Blue- Gold Game. Sophomore Teddy Rezac (ankle) is hurt. Based on all of that information, there doesn't seem to be any need to expand Notre Dame's regular linebacker rota- tion beyond senior Jaylen Sneed, juniors Drayk Bowen and Jaiden Ausberry, and sophomore Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. It's also important to remember that Junior safety Luke Talich tallied a game-high 9 tackles, including 1 for loss, while showing the poise of a veteran during the Blue-Gold Game.
