MAY 2025 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 13 ❱ INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Senior Cameron Goodloe is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound goalie who's a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Goodloe has been with the Wolverines as the program has won two Big Ten Tournament championships and is seeking a third, changing the narrative around the relatively new program at the varsity level. Goodloe has appeared in two games this season, recording 2 saves. Goodloe's sister, Emileigh, is a sophomore goaltender on the U-M women's lacrosse team. Here are some things about Goodloe that you may not have known: Best Aspect Of Being From Chantilly, Va.: "Everyone kinda knows each other. It's not a small town or anything, but it's a pretty close-knit community." Favorite Restaurant In Ann Arbor: "Sergeant Pepper's [General Store]. They have new chicken tenders that they just started serving." Best Meal He Can Cook By Himself: "One time, I made jambalaya with my roommates. I wouldn't say I'm a great cook; I don't do it very often, but I have some skills." Favorite Professional Athlete: "[Washington Capitals forward] Alex Ovechkin. I grew up a Caps fan my whole life, and he's obviously a great hockey player, but I like how, at least in the media, he seems like a guy who's having a lot of fun." Sport He Enjoys Besides Lacrosse: "I've always been a big basketball guy. In another life, if I was a little taller, I would've loved to play basketball. When we're not practicing, there are a lot of guys on our team that love playing three- on-three basketball." Favorite Movie: "'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.'" Favorite TV Show: "'How I Met Your Mother.'" Why He Chose Michigan: "I wanted to play somewhere that I could have a big impact on the culture, somewhere that wasn't established yet, necessarily. Randomly, growing up, my best friends were all Michigan fans. I always grew up going to their houses to watch Michigan football games — random for a kid from Virginia. But I always kinda dreamed of going to Michigan, just because they liked Michigan, and then when I got recruited, it was my No. 1 choice." What He Hopes To Do After Michigan: "I'll probably try to get a job in real estate finance. I would love to move back to the Washington, D.C., area at some point, join a low-key men's league." Favorite Memory At Michigan: "My sophomore year, we beat Maryland at Maryland for the first time ever. We had a nine-hour bus ride back to Ann Arbor after that, and I just remember how fun it was on the bus. Seeing guys cry on the field because we had finally won was definitely awesome." Overall Experience At Michigan: "It's been everything I could've asked for, and a lot more. I've met all of my best friends at this school, the guys who I'm going to probably end up living with the next couple years after school, as well. I don't think I could've chosen a better lacrosse program culture-wise. There are just a lot of really good guys who work really hard. Overall, it's been a blast. It's been the most fun four years I could've ever had." — Clayton Sayfie Goodloe is enrolled in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, majoring in business administration.
