He took unofficial visits to the other three schools in March and April and is now aiming to announce his decision by mid-May. Haskell's trips to Michigan and Syra- cuse were his only visits to each of those schools. By comparison, Penn State has hosted him seven times since his fresh- man season. That likely bodes well for the Lions, but Haskell doesn't share many details about his recruitment with the media. While PSU looks to be the pick, he's been hard to read at times. On3 rates Haskett as the No. 26 de- fensive lineman in the country and the No. 12 prospect in Pennsylvania. Travis Johnson WR | 6-3 | 180 | Chesapeake, Va. A four-star prospect from Oscar Smith High, Johnson visited Penn State regularly in the early stages of his re- cruitment. He returned for two more visits in 2024, but over the past six months, he's been visiting many other schools much more regularly. An offer from Georgia in late January instantly put the Bulldogs in the mix. He's also visited Michigan three times since Sep- tember. Both of those schools have offi- cial visits set, along with Indiana, Penn State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Michigan and Georgia appear to be the favorites for Johnson, who is listed by On3 as the nation's No. 138 overall prospect and No. 15 wideout. Mathieu Kanu LB | 6-3 | 220 | Manassas, Va. Kanu narrowed his list to Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia Tech at the end of March. All six of those schools hosted the four-star Patriot High prospect for unofficial visits in March or April. As of late April, Kanu had set official visits with North Carolina, Michigan, Penn State and Virginia Tech. Listed by On3 at No. 19 among line- backers and No. 275 overall, Kanu ad- mitted in January that Penn State had emerged as the favorite in his recruit- ment. Since March, Michigan has also made a strong charge, so the official visits will likely determine where he signs. Grayson McKeogh OL | 6-7 | 280 | Glenside, Pa. A four-star prospect from La Salle College High outside of Philadelphia, McKeogh grew up a Penn State fan. Rated by On3 as the No. 16 offensive tackle and No. 183 player nationally, he's taken three visits to State College since earning an offer in November and has made it clear that academics will play a big role in his decision. McKeogh's visits this spring included Boston College, Duke, Northwestern and Notre Dame. He has official vis- its set to Duke and Penn State and is expected to lock in a date with Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are believed to be Penn State's main competitors, but they already have four offensive line- men committed. Carter Meadows DE | 6-6 | 225 | Washington, D.C. The Gonzaga prospect was recently named a five-star player by On3. Penn State glimpsed his potential long ago, offering Meadows in January 2024. Since then, he's taken three unofficial visits to Penn State and also said in March that the Nittany Lions will get an official visit in June. However, as of late April, Mead- ows had yet to finalize his official visit schedule. Michigan and Ohio State are both expected to be part of that itiner- ary. The nation's second-ranked de- fensive end and sixth-ranked overall prospect, Meadows also took unofficial visits to North Carolina, Northwestern and South Carolina this spring. Joey O'Brien Ath. | 6-4 | 180 | Glenside, Pa. O'Brien has long been considered one of Penn State's most important defensive recruits in the class. However, following The nation's No. 19 linebacker and No. 275 overall prospect, per On3, Mathieu Kanu of Virginia has Penn State and Michigan high on his list. PHOTO COURTESY ON3
