8 ■ THE WOLVERINE 2025 FOOTBALL PREVIEW MICHIGAN FOOTBALL Michigan may not have had the season on the field some were hoping for, but its 8-5 record was enough to keep ahold of its all-time wins lead over the rest of the country, now above the Ohio State Buckeyes by 34 wins at 1,012 in its 145-year history. However, U-M slid down one spot in all-time win percentage (.73257) to third, just behind Alabama (.73306) despite two wins over the Crimson Tide in the 2024 calendar year. Alabama had previously been passed by U-M after the 2023 season with U-M's 15-0 record and College Football Playoff national championship. Ohio State leads all-time in win percentage (.73536), followed by Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame (.73194) and Boise State (.72582), rounding out the top five. — Anthony Broome Division I Football Bowl Subdivision All-Time Wins Leaders The official record book on NCAA.org includes records as senior col- lege only, minimum 25 years in Division I. With their 13-1 record and Big Ten title in Year 1, the Ducks are currently atop the Big Ten standings in terms of winning percentage, with an asterisk of one year of data compared to decades for most other programs.
