THE WOLVERINE 2025 FOOTBALL PREVIEW ■ 31
a shell of a team, 19-13, in the ReliaQuest
Bowl.
The program had momentum, and it will
take it into Year 2 of the Moore era.
"The trials and the tribulations you go
through in the season help propel you to
when the spring hits," Moore said of his
first season.
"You don't know what you don't know
until you get into the [head coaching]
seat. This time last spring it was, what … a
month into being the head coach at Michi-
gan?
"You think you have a plan. You think
that's how you should do it, but maybe
there's something you should change. Now,
there's a good handle on what I want to do
and how I want to do it."
And as a result, Moore feels "really good"
about the program and Team 146. Here's
our annual look at some of Michigan's best
and most intriguing players, biggest ques-
tion marks and more heading into the 2025
campaign.
Similar to Michigan's 19-13 triumph over Alabama
in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the 2025 campaign will be
driven by its tenacious defense, including return-
ees Jaishawn Barham (1), Derrick Moore (8), Trey
Pierce (95), Rayshaun Benny (26, will wear 55 this
season) and Ernest Hausmann (15).
