With a sea- son full of championship potential ahead, his focus is squarely on where Penn State can still grow. That window for improvement is nar- rower than it was a year ago in all phases of the game, including the special teams units, which are being overseen by sec- ond-year coordinator Justin Lustig. With the kicking game benefitting from a bit more stability — and with Lustig having a better grasp of the talent available in the kicking and return games — Franklin said he's confident that wins can be found in the margins. "Last year on special teams, I thought we didn't really lose any games. And I don't know if we necessarily won any games," Franklin said.
