36 SEPT. 13, 2025 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED GAME PREVIEW: TEXAS A&M space in a one-on-one setting, he doesn't have to be the lone driving force in Notre Dame's rushing attack. The Irish have a deep and talented back- field with redshirt junior Jadarian Price already established and others behind him who will be expected to produce when needed. The duo of Love and Price combined for 22 car- ries for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns against Texas A&M last season. They won't be aided by a quar- terback as proficient at running as Leonard, but the Irish offensive line should be even better. Notre Dame gained a lot of respect and experience with its offensive line play last season, and the unit is looking to raise the bar once again. Texas A&M entered the season with question marks on its defensive line, particularly in the interior. The Aggies lost three respected defensive linemen — Shemar Stewart, Shemar Turner and Nic Scourton — to the NFL in the offseason. The Aggies have recruited well on the defensive line, but the potential talent remains largely unproven. Though York, who tallied 82 tackles and 9.5 tack- les for loss last season, received the preseason shine, Pro Football Focus considered fellow re- turning linebacker Scooby Williams the better run defender last season. His run defense grade of 82.0 was second on the team behind Stewart. Notre Dame wasn't the only team to find success on the ground against Texas A&M last season. The Aggies were only slightly better than Notre Dame's rushing defense in allowing 135.2 yards per game, and South Carolina and Texas both surpassed 200 rushing yards against A&M. OFFENSE Pos.
