34 SEPT. 27, 2025 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED GAME PREVIEW: ARKANSAS BY TYLER JAMES R edshirt senior quarterback Tay- len Green received high praise from Arkansas teammate Fer- nando Carmona, also a red- shirt senior and the team's starting left guard. Near the end of his comments, Carmona described Green as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. Arkansas senior safety Larry Worth didn't feel that went far enough. "Not one of the best, he is the best quarterback in the nation right now," Worth told reporters last week in a joint press conference with Carmona. Through the first three weeks of the college football season, no FBS quar- terback was responsible for more points scored or more total offense than Green. He produced 78 points on 11 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns and amassed 1,173 yards of total offense with 866 passing yards and 307 rushing yards. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Green has been an absolute machine for the Ar- kansas offense. "I'm extremely grateful for Taylen," Carmona said. "He makes the offen- sive line's job really easy, because, obvi- ously, he can scramble. But then a lot of the things people don't see is just his knowledge of the game right now and just the way he commands the game and controls it. "Compared to last year, there were times when the offensive line maybe didn't pick up the things we should've seen. But now Taylen is seeing it, and he's calling it out for us. He's making our jobs a heck of a lot easier, because he knows what's going on and he's playing the game inside the game. "It's a true blessing to have him back there, and he's one of the best quarter- backs in the nation, so I have nothing to complain about." Green, a product of Lewisville (Texas) High, started his career at Boise State. He started 22 games in his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons with the Broncos before transferring to Ar- kansas prior to the 2024 season. Green stepped into the starting job for the Ra- zorbacks and contributed more yards of total offense (3,756) in a single season OFF AND RUNNING Quarterback Taylen Green has elevated his game to give the Razorbacks a dangerous offense Green produced 78 points on 11 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns and amassed 1,173 yards of total offense (866 passing and 307 rushing) in the Razorbacks' first three games.
