Led by graduate Florence Caron, who came in fourth overall, the 12th-ranked Nittany Lions totaled 78 points to finish behind Or- egon with 18. It was the Nittany Lions' longest los- ing streak since dropping six in a row in 2004. A loss to the Spartans would leave PSU with its longest skid since drop- ping seven in a row in 1931. Penn State has never lost eight consecutive games in the program's 138-year history. 7th Where Zakee Wheatley's overruled fumble return against Oregon ranked on On3's list of the worst officiating decisions of the 2025 college football season. With the score tied 3-3 in the third quarter and Oregon at Penn State's 9-yard line, the redshirt senior safety picked up a loose ball and returned it to midfield. The play was ruled a fumble on the field, but replay officials said that Noah Whittington's knee had touched the ground, even though the video replay appeared in- conclusive. Oregon scored on the next play, and the Lions went on to lose in double overtime, 30-24. 8 Consecutive games in which KAYTRON ALLEN had at least 1 rushing touchdown after the senior running back plowed in for a 1-yard score against Ohio State on Nov. 1. Allen became the first Penn State player since Saquon Barkley in 2016-17 to score a rushing TD in eight straight games. He also became one of only two FBS players with rushing touchdowns in all of their team's games to that point in the 2025 season. The other was Iowa QB Mark Gronowski. Allen's scoring streak was broken by Indiana. 11 Goals by sophomore forward JJ Wiebusch in the Penn State men's ice hockey team's first 12 games. Heading into a two-game series versus No. 2 Michigan on Nov. 14-15, Wie- busch was tied for the national lead in goals and was tied for third with 18 points, helping the third-ranked Lions sprint to a 9-3-0 start. 22.5 Average yards per catch by Ohio State wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate in the Buckeyes' 38-14 victory over Penn State. The Lions' defense surrendered 247 yards to Smith and Tate. The standout duo caught all of their com- bined 11 targets on the afternoon and scored 3 touchdowns. 697 Career rushing attempts by Kaytron Allen following Penn State's 27-24 loss to Indiana on Nov. 8, in which he had 19 carries for 48 yards. Allen moved into first place in Penn State history, passing Evan Royster, who had 686 carries from 2006-10. The previous week at Ohio State, Allen passed Saquon Barkley into second place. Barkley had 676 car- ries from 2015-17. By The Numbers D E C E M B E R 2 0 2 5 17 PHOTO BY MARK SELDERS/PENN STATE ATHLETICS
