BY JOHN BORTON
J
ordan Marshall carries with him
the wisdom and encouragement of
fellow former Ohio prep stars Des-
mond Howard and Charles Wood-
son. He knows what they accom-
plished, and how they've urged
him to lead.
That means plenty, for the
sophomore Cincinnati native
charged with carrying the
rushing load for Michi-
gan down the stretch.
Howard and Wood-
son proved very good
players early in their
careers. They were great
by the end, each winning a Heis-
man Trophy and Woodson leading a
national championship squad.
All of that isn't lost on Marshall, who
has enjoyed very welcome conversa-
tions with both. He's determined to lead.
Whereas he sees the future as bright at
Michigan, he doesn't want to wait for
success.
