There are a few rule differences be- tween FIBA Europe hoops and the NCAA, but he has not let that bother him. "Basketball is basketball," he said. "It's a little bit more physical over here. The referees won't call some things" that would draw a whistle in a Division I col- lege game. New Opportunities Carr averaged 16.6 points per contest in two seasons with the Nittany Lions. In the seven years since he left Penn State, he has mostly split his time between pro leagues in North America and overseas clubs. He was the first PSU sophomore to reach 1,000 career points as well as the first second-year Nittany Lion to be named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team. Carr was an all-conference player in 2018, a season in which the Lions reached the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament and then won the NIT with a victory over Utah at Madison Square Garden in New York. The first-team All-Big Ten point guard was taken by the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft, becoming the 51st pick overall. He didn't make the team and has yet to see action in an NBA game, but he's been playing professionally since leaving State Col- lege. Carr's first season overseas was 2018- 19 in Italy, after which he played in Rus- sia and in the NBA G League before join- ing a club in western Canada in 2022. "He has played at the highest levels during his collegiate career and will bring a level of composure and understanding of how to play, giving him the ability to make everyone around him better," said Barry Rawlyk, general manager of the Saskatchewan Rattlers, a team in the Ca- nadian Elite Basketball League. Carr went on to play in Denmark and Israel during the 2022-23 season, was in Kuwait for the 2023-24 campaign and performed for a club in Bahrain during the 2024-25 season. He started the 2025-26 season with the Sagesse Sports Club in Beirut and was the Player of the Week in the West Asia Super League after totaling 20 points and 8 assists in a 97-92 loss on Nov. 5 to Shahrdari Gorgan of Iran. His club also plays in the domestic league, and he averaged 10 points in his first three outings.
