TRACKING THE PACK
MARCH/APRIL 2026 ■ 17
■ A Show Of Support
Former NC State player turned broadcaster Debbie Antonelli (center) and a strong contingent
of Wolfpack supporters came together at Reynolds Coliseum on Feb. 2 for the 21st annual
Play4Kay game. The event is named in honor of former NC State coach Kay Yow, who was
diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and passed away in 2009 after 34 years in charge of the
Wolfpack women's basketball program.
A crowd of 5,500 turned out this year to remember Yow and recognize others who have
battled breast cancer. Those fans got to see a hard-fought contest between NC State and in-
trastate rival North Carolina. The Pack wasn't able to complete its comeback bid, falling to the
Tar Heels, 61-59. However, $508,715 was raised in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, an
increase of nearly $31,000 over last year's total.
