It was the most assists by a Wolfpack player in a game since Dennis Smith Jr. had 16 against Rider on Dec. 28, 2016. Copeland didn't have a single turnover against the Mus- tangs, becoming the first Division I player since Belmont's Grayson Murphy in 2019 to have 16 assists and no turnovers in a game. The NC State fresh- man broke an ACC record that had been held since January 2023 by one of her Wolfpack predecessors, Katelyn Tuohy, who finished in 4:24.26. Engelhardt's time was the fifth-fastest in NCAA history. The collegiate record is now held by BYU's Riley Chamberlain, who ran a 4:20.61 in Boston on the same day that Engelhardt set the ACC mark.
