E
lliott Cadeau lay in a hospi-
tal bed, two days prior to the
tipoff for the Final Four. He
hadn't blown an Achilles,
torn an ACL or cracked ribs from one
of his many torso-to-hardwood crashes
over the course of 38 hard-fought games.
The Michigan junior transfer point
guard found himself felled by a cashew.
An allergy to such thrust him into
medical scrutiny and treatment. As far
as anyone outside the inner circle knew
at first, he might be winding up watching
the Final Four on TV.
