He to- taled 20 tackles, including 4 for loss and 2 sacks, and he had 5 receptions for 100 yards while playing tight end. He's listed by Rivals as the No. 1 player in Rhode Island. Dhillon McGee CB | 6-1 | 175 | DeSoto, Texas Penn State had been pursuing McGee well before last year's coaching change. Those efforts paid off when the three- star Texas defensive back committed to the Nittany Lions on June 24, choosing the Lions over Texas and SMU. McGee had a chance to spend time with Campbell during an official visit in early June while also reconnecting with his longtime point of contact in State College, cornerbacks coach Terry Smith. McGee also visited in April dur- ing spring practice. He said the offer from Penn State was "a big one for me." "Even when the last staff was re- cruiting me hard, the love was real. And Coach Campbell and the new staff have kept that same energy," McGee told Ri- vals. "I like how direct and consistent they've been, really breaking down how I'd be used and developed in their sys- tem." Listed by Rivals as the No. 47 cor- nerback nationally and No. 54 player in Texas, McGee attended Red Oak High the past two seasons. He totaled 32 tackles and 15 pass breakups as a junior but will not be back for his senior year. McGee announced in June that he plans to attend DeSoto High this fall. Aniti Paiva DL | 6-3 | 300 | Draper, Utah Penn State ventured into unfamil- iar recruiting territory when it landed Paiva, a three-star defensive tackle from Skyline High on the outskirts of Salt Lake City. New PSU defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe was the key to earn- ing Paiva's May 22 commitment. Mal- loe had been recruiting him during his previous tenure at UCLA, and the two reunited in January for an in-person meeting. "People ask, 'Why Penn State?' I say, 'Why not? It's an elite program,'" Paiva said. "I love the town, I love the people, I C L A S S O F 2 0 2 7 C O M M I T M E N T S * Name Pos. Ht. Wt.
