Now, with more than two dozen offers and counting, we expect Jones to finish higher than his current ranking of No. 13 in the Keystone State. There are other highly regarded play- ers throughout the region, including North Jersey prospects Nasir Richard- son and AJ Lopez Jr. Richardson, who attends Shabazz High in Newark, N.J., is another potential five-star at No. 10 overall nationally and No. 2 at the posi- tion. So far, his three visits to Penn State are the most he's taken to any school. However, he has 34 offers and counting. We'll get a better feel for Richardson this fall when he's able to travel more. Lopez is a Rivals300 prospect at No. 290 nationally. A 6-0, 170-pound stand- out at Paramus Catholic, he's ranked No. 13 overall as an athlete and is likely to play defense in college. Lopez plays alongside Chukwuma Odoh, a running back commit in Penn State's 2027 class. He's visited four times, including two trips since Campbell took over. Safety Penn State is off to a strong start with a handful of safety prospects. Two who stand out early are Brandon Murphy of Clairton, Pa., and DeNairo Girton Jr. of Lexington Park, Md. Murphy is a Rivals300 prospect at No. 207 nationally and sixth in Penn- sylvania. The 6-1, 185-pound athlete has proven he could contribute on ei- ther side of the ball, but his frame and physicality project best as a safety at the college level. Penn State and Ohio State appear to be the frontrunners, with the Nittany Lions having hosted him four times. Girton has a similar frame at 6-1, 180. He, too, has been a regular visitor to State College, with all three of his trips taking place since January. Florida and Ohio State also hosted him in June, while Maryland and Virginia Tech are in the mix, too. ■ C L A S S O F 2 0 2 7 C O M M I T M E N T S * Name Pos. Ht. Wt.
