48 THE WOLVERINE ❱ OCTOBER 2026 ❱ MICHIGAN RECRUITING WIDE RECEIVER Oregon commit Dakota Guerrant Michigan will evaluate senior risers at the receiver position all fall – UNC commit Chad Willis, Rivals' No. 67 pass catcher in the land, is someone to keep an eye on — but Guerrant remains the only concrete flip target at the moment. The Wolverines will maintain contact with the nation's No. 21 prospect and No. 3 recevier, through signing day, and observers still expect U-M to do every- thing it can to keep the five-star pros- pect from Harper Woods (Mich.) High home. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him pop up on campus for a game or two this fall. SAFETY Kentucky commit Tristin Hughes Hughes plans on visiting Michigan on Oct. 17 for the Penn State game. He's not sure if that trip will be an official visit yet, but he's in contact with the coaching staff and wants to hear out the Wolver- ines' pitch. The 5-11, 190-pound defen- sive back from Rocky River (Ohio) High is the No. 177 recruit and No. 17 safety in the country. Michigan briefly grabbed the momentum in his recruitment after offering early this year but never hosted him for a visit. That likely will change later this fall, and Hughes is probably the most realistic safety flip target on the board right now. Colorado commit Gabe Jenkins Jenkins made an early commitment to Colorado before his Victors Weekend of- ficial visit with Michigan, and the Wol- verines remain in touch with the defen- sive back from Pittsburgh. He's the No. 393 recruit and No. 38 safety nationally in the Rivals Industry Ranking. The 6-1 defensive back told The Wolverine in Au- gust that he was not sure if he wanted to visit U-M this fall, so as of now Jenkins is another longtime target who has yet to make it to campus. Utah commit Kaleb Hall A 6-2 safety, Hall flew under the radar before Utah offered him his first Power Four scholarship. The Utes landed his commitment, and the Wolverines are in communication with the Syracuse (Utah) High standout, the land's No. 123 safety. He does not hold a public Michigan of- fer yet. LINEBACKER P i t ts b u rg h c o m m i t Je re m i a h Proctor The Wolverines are keeping close tabs on Proctor, who is rated as the No. 235 prospect and No. 17 linebacker by 247Sports, after a strong start to his se- nior season with Gainesville (Ga.) High. Proctor (6-3 1/2, 205) is a Pitt commit. Florida State is also keeping tabs on him. If Michigan puts together a strong push this fall, we could see the U-M staff pull- ing off a flip here – the Wolverines are looking for one more linebacker to fill out this class. Vanderbilt commit Ethan Hauser Hauser is a longtime target for line- backers coach Alex Whittingham, and we don't expect him to give up on recruit- ing the Buford (Ga.) High star until sign- ing day. Michigan led his recruitment for months before a late surge by Vanderbilt secured a commitment from the No. 43 linebacker in the 2027 class. He's a Plan A prospect for the Wolverines in this class. They would love to flip him; Michigan commit and fellow linebacker Brayden Watson is a teammate and very close friend. Clemson commit Bryce Kish Kish committed to Clemson on his first visit way back in March. It is doubtful that will change for the Howell (Mich.) High senior as long as the Tigers' staff remains intact. Still, expect the Wolverines to keep in contact with the No. 60 recruit and No. 6 linebacker in the country and, given his proximity to Ann Arbor, it makes sense for U-M to maintain that relationship.
