BLUEGOLDONLINE.COM NOV. 14, 2026 27 Miami game — the College Football Playoff selection committee's place- ment of the Irish 11th in the first set of CFP rankings. "I think when we all go behind a dark room," Skip said, "and we close the cur- tain and we say, 'OK, here are the teams,' and everybody goes, 'What? How did they get in? How about them?' And the criteria that meets one team is not the same criteria that another team has evaluated on. And I think that's got ev- erybody scratching their heads." There was no confusion, though, about how Lou Holtz put his lasting stamp on Notre Dame. "I think the biggest lesson that he left for all of us was that Dad's line was always, 'What can I do for you?'" said Skip, whose last coaching gig was with the UFL's Birmingham Stallions in 2025. "Even at the end, when he was in a hospi- tal bed and people were walking in to see him for the last time and he could barely talk, the first question he would ask to everybody is: 'What can I do for you?' "I think what an example for all of us to learn from. And I think he lived his life the way he wanted to be remembered. I think that made an impact on all of us." — Eric Hansen NOTRE DAME INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS Rushing Att. Gain Lost Net Avg.
