BLUEGOLDONLINE.COM NOV. 14, 2026 41 OPPONENT ON DECK: SYRACUSE ORANGE Date: Nov. 28, 2026 Site: JMA Wireless Dome (42,784) Kickoff: TBA All-time series: Notre Dame leads 9-3 Last meeting: Notre Dame 70, Syracuse 7 (Nov. 22, 2025, Notre Dame Stadium) 2026 Record To Date: 4-5 (2-5 ACC) Syracuse head coach: Fran Brown, 17-17 at Syra- cuse and overall (3rd year) Season summary: Brown's decision to reinsert Steve Angeli as the team's starting quarterback has paid big dividends. Since Angeli, the Notre Dame transfer, took back over as the signal-caller, Syra- cuse has gone 2-1, beating North Carolina 31-30 on the road in overtime and upsetting No. 19 SMU 30-27 with a late touchdown before losing 18-13 to Clemson at home. In the two games the Cuse won, it was 8- and 8.5-point underdogs, respectively. Angeli was on point in both wins, completing a combined 41 of 68 passes for 456 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He also scored on a 26-yard run against SMU. He's back to full strength after getting benched in Game 3 and later receiving an injection to aid his recovery from last year's Achilles injury. Syracuse now had the No. 24 passing offense (275.4 yards per game) and No. 52 scoring offense (31.4 points per game) in the country heading into Week 10. The defense has made significant strides, too. After ranking No. 124 in total defense (427.7 yards per game) and No. 128 in scoring defense (34.9 points per game) last season, the Orange had improved to No. 58 (346.9) and No. 90 (26.4), respectively. That's 8.5 fewer points allowed per game. Syracuse has three games remaining before play- ing Notre Dame, giving it a chance to build mo- mentum before the regular season ends. As long as Angeli is under center, it can't be counted out in any of them. Former Notre Dame quarterback Steve Angeli has started nine games over the last two seasons for Syracuse, completing 196 of 328 passes for 2,504 yards with 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
