BRETT BRUMBAUGH QB | 6-3 | 195 | McDonald | South Fayette Brumbaugh was the WPIAL's secondleading passer last season, completing 154 of 245 attempts for 2,825 yards and 37 touchdowns with only nine interceptions. He is the third member of the family who is projected to play quarterback at the college level. Brothers Luke and Christian are at Robert Morris and William & Mary, respectively. Brumbaugh lists verbal scholarship offers from Temple and Akron and has significant interest in Pitt, West Virginia, Penn State and a number of ACC and Big Ten schools. 8. NAS BONNER RB/DB | 6-0 | 180 | Philadelphia | Imhotep Charter Last fall, Bonner played behind David Williams, who was a top Penn State recruiting target before signing with South Carolina. Bonner still managed to rush for more than 600 yards, and he averaged more than 10 yards per carry. He is said to have 4.5-second 40-yard speed, and he excelled at camps and combines this summer, which has led to offers from Connecticut, Temple, West Virginia and Wisconsin. but he is receiving heavy interest from Penn State and other Big Ten and ACC schools. 10. JAKE COOPER LB | 6-2 | 230 | Warminster | Archbishop Wood Following the 2012 season, Cooper was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer's All-Suburban team and was a second-team Class AAA All-State selection after totaling close to 100 tackles. Cooper has already taken unofficial visits to Penn State, Ohio State and Temple and attended a camp at Florida. He plans to unofficially visit Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Pitt and Virginia. Cooper has yet to receive his first verbal scholarship offer, as many schools are waiting to see if he outgrows the linebacker position. An outstanding student-athlete, he lists Penn State, Stanford, Nebraska and Virginia as his early favorites. I believe if Penn State were to offer, Cooper might verbally commit to the Nittany Lions. 11. TONY PILATO OT | 6-7 | 295 | Greensburg | Hempfield Pilato plays both football and basketball at Hempfield and was named one of the Greensburg Tribune's Top 10 WPIAL basketball prospects. He was also named All-Conference and honorable mention All-WPIAL at the conclusion of the 2012 football season. He has interest in schools from the Big Ten, ACC and Big 12, and he may want to play both football and basketball at the college level. 9. ASA MANLEY CB |6-0 | 180 | Philadelphia | Prep Charter Next to Adams, Manley is the bestkept secret among Pennsylvania's top 15 prospects. Prep Charter head coach Tony Beaty said the young defensive back had a breakout season in 2012. He received second-team All-City honors while totaling five interceptions and more than 40 tackles. Manley was the only freshman selected to any of the three Coaches Public League All-Star teams in 2011. BWI has not been able to confirm any verbal scholarship offers for Manley, 12. KAREEM GIBSON CB | 5-10 | 165 | Johnstown | Greater Johnstown As a sophomore, Gibson played both wide receiver and cornerback for the Trojans and earned All-Conference and All-Area honors. He had 19 catches for more than 300 yards and five touchdowns. He also registered 29 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions. Gibson claims scholarship offers from Pitt, Temple and Toledo and is receiving serious interest from Penn State, Maryland, West Virginia and a number of ACC and Big Ten schools. 13. KEVIN GIVENS LB | 6-3 | 230 | Altoona | Altoona Givens could be the best player to emerge from Altoona's football program since former Penn State All-America defensive lineman Mike Reid. Following the 2012 season, in which Givens played running back and defensive end, he was an All-Conference selection and was named to the Altoona Mirror's All-Area team. His best rushing game came against Gateway, in which he gained 116 yards on 13 carries. Givens also totaled close to 100 tackles last fall. Altoona head coach John Franco has reported that Givens runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and bench presses 340 pounds. Temple has extended an offer, while Michigan, Pitt, West Virginia and Penn State are showing serious interest. 14. ELIJAH COTRILL Ath. | 6-2 | 175 | Beaver Falls | Beaver Falls Cottrill would be rated much higher if it were known whether he plans to play football or basketball at the college level. He was a Class A All-League, AllConference, All-WPIAL and All-State selection following the 2012 season. He totaled 29 catches for 519 yards and nine touchdowns and is rated by some as the top cornerback prospect in the WPIAL for this cycle. He's also a mid- to high-major prospect in basketball and is often compared to former Beaver Falls star athlete Lance Jeter, who played football at Cincinnati and basketball at Nebraska. 15. JON RUNYAN JR. OL | 6-4 | 250 | Philadelphia | St. Joseph's Prep Runyan is the son of Jon Runyan, a former Michigan All-American who went on to enjoy a stellar pro career as an offensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles. Runyan Jr. was named All-Conference, and the Philadelphia Inquirer put him on the All-Catholic team after his sophomore season. Runyan verbally committed to the WolverI ines on June 22.
