Since last season, Garry Gilliam has gone from a listed weight of 262 pounds to 305 – mostly healthy weight, of course. He has also switched positions from tight end to offensive tackle. The move came at his request, mainly because he thought it would be beneficial to the team, but also because he figured it might improve his future prospects. Gilliam's re-emergence as an offensive lineman creates what is perhaps the most consequential position battle on offense this preseason, save for the high-profile competition between quarterbacks Christian Hackenberg and Tyler Ferguson.
