SYRACUSE 3 : 3 0 P. M . | AUG. 31 | EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. | ABC/ESPN2 The biggest game of the upcoming month? That would be (what else?) Penn State's football opener against the Orange at MetLife Stadium. The Nittany Lions have faced Syracuse more than any other opponent except for Pitt, but the teams' upcoming meeting is only their third since Penn State left its Eastern brethren behind to join the Big Ten. The Lions have a 42-23-5 advantage in the series, and have won 20 of the past 22, but they'll be breaking in a new QB in this game, while Syracuse will be debuting a new coach (Scott Shafer) and a new conference affiliation (the ACC). So all bets are off. For a thorough breakdown of this matchup, visit bluewhiteonline.com on Aug. 28, when BWI posts its first pregame newsletter of the season.
