a neighbor's home without
reciprocating with their own
invitation.

"We thanked the defense a
lot last year," said Martin of
the unit that finished No. 2
nationally in scoring defense
(12.77 points allowed per
game) compared to the No. 78
ranking by the Irish in scoring
offense (25.77 points per
game). "They got us out of a
few games, but … the defense
isn't always going to be there
to get us out of trouble.
"I know we're going to take
Junior Troy Niklas will look to continue Notre Dame's tradition of pride in going out there and
trying to get the job done and
strong tight end play.
