Same Issues …
Different Result?
Last year I felt that Notre Dame
would be fortunate to end up at 8‑4
with an inexperienced quarterback
and offense. I also felt that special
teams, especially in punt returns,
would be very weak.
However, I did not remember how
important a great defense is in college
football. In my mind, the Michigan
State game will always be the turning
point, and this event built the neces‑
sary confidence for a 12‑0 regular sea‑
son.
Despite the bowl mishap and the
player defections/incidents that seem
to happen after a great season at Notre
Dame, I will go with 8‑4 again. There
might be some hidden magic like a
wide receiver or running back that
refuses to fail, but I believe the funda‑
mental issues are still there, i.e. inex‑
perience at QB, an inconsistent offense
and a punt return team that does not
return punts.
Like last year, maybe the defense
be heard!

I hope I am wrong so that my Saint

Notre Dame go undefeated at home!
