football recruiting While that works in Notre Dame's favor, they currently sit in fourth behind Auburn, Clemson and Ole Miss. With official visits ahead for the 6-4, 247-pound prospect, Notre Dame still has a shot to make a move up his leaderboard. Sources tell BlueandGold.com that Williams' major concern with Notre Dame is simply that he's unsure if the defensive system best suits his game. The Irish staff will try to clear that up over the next few months. 247Sports ranks Williams as the No. 15 weakside defensive end in the nation and the No. 21 overall prospect in Georgia. Battle With Trojans Draws Visitors Notre Dame hosts USC Oct. 19, and there will be plenty of prospects in the stands to witness the rivalry. The game is usually very meaningful toward the success of both schools on the field and in recruiting. With five confirmed uncommitted prospects already expected to attend, along with two current Irish commitments, it's shaping up to be a huge weekend in South Bend. Elam, along with fellow five-star John "JuJu" Smith of Long Beach, Calif., will make the trip to Notre Dame. Smith, a 6-1, 200-pound safety, is the No. 30 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 4 athlete in the country and the No. 4 recruit in California. Four-stars Luatua, Damien Mama of Bellflower, Calif., and Erik Brown of Fontana, Calif., will also be in attendance. Mama, a 6‑4, 370-pounder, is the nation's No. 35 overall player nationally, the No. 2 offensive guard in the country and the No. 6 recruit in California. Brown, a 6-1, 170-pound recruit, is the No. 246 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 30 wide receiver in the country and the No. 25 player in California. Four-star commitments Richard Yeargin III and Corey Holmes, both from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be on campus for their official visits to Notre Dame that weekend. Yeargin, a 6‑4, 225-pound linebacker, is the No. 32 linebacker in the nation and the No. 36 prospect in Florida. Holmes, a 6-2, 175-pound recruit, is the No. 33 wide receiver in the country and the No. 30 prospect in Florida. ✦ BlueandGold.com Get it FREE through football regular season!
