Notre Dame releases 2013-14
men's basketball schedule

Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey will return to
his East Coast roots this season when the Irish
debut in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

recently unveiled its full 201314 schedule for the program's
109th season and first in the
Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Irish will kick off the new era
by hosting Duke at Purcell Pavilion
Jan. 4 at 4 p.m. in a nationally televised contest on CBS.
"It's funny how the ACC and television worked to get that one scheduled as our first conference game,"
Brey told UND.com. "I know that our
fans are going to be excited to have
the Blue Devils in our building. Even
though our student body is still on
Christmas break for that game, it's
going to be an electric atmosphere in
our building on that day."
Brey is quite familiar with the Duke
program, having coached there as
an assistant under head coach Mike
Krzyzewski from 1987-95 before taking his first head coaching job with
Delaware. The Irish are 2-15 all time
against the Blue Devils, and nearly
12 years will have passed since the
last meeting by the time the teams
tip off. In 2002, top-seeded Duke defeated Notre Dame 84-77 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
