Denial: "We'll still get him on signing day." Acceptance: "Hey, we've got five or six backs already, and they all have eligibility at least through next year. There are other fish in the sea to get later." Indifference: "We don't need his kind. If you can't keep your word, you don't belong at Notre Dame anyway." Oops. That last one would come across as somewhat hypocritical. How would this year's Notre Dame offense fare without senior wideout TJ Jones or junior center Nick Martin?
