Chances were slim that Notre Dame could pull the in-state recruit from his commitment to Alabama, but his move to the Sunshine State opened up chances for Alford to gain some traction with the elite ball carrier. Look for him to take an official visit to South Bend before the season's end. Scarbrough is ranked as the No. 52 overall player in the nation, the No. 6 running back in the country and the No. 3 recruit in Florida. During his junior season, Scarbrough rushed 81 times for 705 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added 18 receptions for 343 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Minneapolis Washburn High fourstar running back Jeff Jones is on the Notre Dame radar, but he has yet to receive an offer from the Fighting Irish. The 5-11, 196-pound recruit committed to Minnesota March 29 and has been solid ever since. There are, however, a few teams that could offer and make him reconsider that pledge to the Gophers, and Notre Dame is one of them. Jones camped in South Bend in June 2012, but didn't pick up an offer from the Irish. While he performed very well at the camp, Notre Dame was unsure what it would be doing at running back for 2014, therefore an offer wasn't extended. On tape, Jones is one of the most versatile backs in the country. He has the speed, agility and elusiveness that is coveted by the staff, but he's not a realistic option until he receives an offer. If he shines during his senior season, look for him to get reevaluated by the Notre Dame staff. Jones is the No. 176 overall player in the nation, the No. 12 running back in the country and the No. 2 recruit in Minnesota according to 247Sports. As a junior, Jones rushed 111 times for 1,002 yards and nine scores. During his sophomore season, he had 141 carries for 1,450 yards and 18 touchdowns. In his first high school season, Jones carried the ball 138 times for 809 yards and found the end zone nine times. ✦
