RECRUITING Rain dampens recruiting crowd RYA N S N Y D E R Wind and rain kept the majority of Penn State's top recruiting targets from attending its game against Kent State Saturday, but there were a handful of potential "run-on" targets in attendance. One prospect who has already visited Penn State twice this season is Travis Krall, an offensive lineman from Milton, Pa. At 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, Krall has the versatility to play multiple positions along the offensive line, which is something the Penn State coaching staff is looking for. Krall also has multiple MidAmerican Conference programs that could potentially offer a scholarship. "The Penn State game against Eastern Michigan was my first Penn State game experience," Krall said. "I'll probably come back for a few more games later in the year, too. It's a lot of fun." Another potential run-on from the Keystone State is offensive lineman Ryan Paulish from Old Forge. Like Krall, he has the size (6-4, 270 pounds) to play multiple spots along the offensive front, but he would most likely start out as an offensive guard if he were to choose the Nittany Lions. There were a few Class of 2015 prospects in attendance, the most notable of whom was Ryan Buchholz, an athletic big man from Malvern, Pa. After camping at Penn State in the summer, the 6-foot-6, 230-pound tight end appears as if he could emerge as one of the staff's top targets next year. Once again, the ability to play multiple positions – he could also play defensive end – will help Buchholz's cause, but that may not even matter, as he's already earned two verbal scholarship offers from Rutgers and Virginia with more expected to be on their way. In other words, he may be one of Pennsylvania's can't-miss prospects in 2015. Due to the circumstances surrounding the weather, the Penn State staff will certainly be happy with the amount of recruiting prospects who attended, but they were planning on hosting a few adS e P t e m b e R | blue white illuStRated ditional players who might be worthy of a scholarship. One such prospect who was unable to attend was R.J. Edwards, an athlete from St. Joseph's High in Montvale, N.J. So far this season, the junior has been grabbing headlines for his play at wide receiver, but it's his potential at linebacker that is grabbing the attention of many Division I programs. "I plan on rescheduling when I get a chance, Edwards said of his visit to PSU. " "I'll definitely be coming up at some point this season. I'm real interested in Penn State." Antonie White, a defensive end from Millville, N.J., who is currently committed to PSU's Class of 2014, was another player who intended to make the trip. However, he and his teammate – 2015 athlete Robert Enis – backed out Saturday morning and will instead attend the game against Michigan.
