The most recent year when Notre Dame scored three touchdowns faster than it did in 3:29
of the fourth quarter this Sept. 14 in the 31-24 comeback victory at Purdue (nine- and 82yard touchdown catches by DaVaris Daniels and a 34-yard interception return by Bennett Jackson). During
a 40-point second quarter in a 60-6 rout of Pitt on Nov. 16, 1996, the Irish tallied three touchdowns and
20 points in just 2:18: a one-yard run by Robert Farmer (6:31 left in the second quarter), an 83-yard punt
return by Allen Rossum (5:30) and a 74-yard punt return by Autry Denson (4:13).

Straight rushing attempts in 2012 by Notre Dame sophomore
running back Cam McDaniel in the 41‑3 victory against
Miami to set the school record. Against Purdue this year,
McDaniel joined five other Irish players with eight carries in a
row for second place: James Aldridge (2006, Navy), Mark
Green (1987, Boston College), Phil Carter (1980, Air
Force), Larry Conjar (1965, Army) and Neil
Worden (1952, Oklahoma).
