second season

uy Gadowsky has a lot to look forward to in
the coming weeks and months. The Penn
State men's ice hockey coach is getting
ready to lead his team into its second new
era in as many years.
Last year, the team began varsity competition, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of
those in the Penn State hockey community, including
entrepreneur Terry Pegula, whose $88 million gift to his alma mater in 2010 established the men's and women's programs.
This year, the Nittany Lions are looking
ahead to an even more eventful season. The
team, which finished 13-14 in its inaugural season, is
moving into the state-of-the-art arena that Pegula
bankrolled and that bears his name. The Pegula Ice Arena will host its first game on Oct. 11 when Army visits
Penn State for the season opener. The Lions are also getting set to compete in the Big Ten's fledgling hockey
conference, where their rivals will include some of the
