The players should recognize their support and sing along with them. This way the players show their support for them also. Edwards had Duke as the matchup while Schlabach listed North Carolina State as the opponent. Our resident bowl expert on BGI.com, Simm, had the following bowls as most likely if the Irish don't achieve a 10-2 mark for a BCS bid, and the pickings appear pretty slim. Part of the reason why Notre Dame joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2012 was to have a better conference tie-in to some bowl games: Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego — Army is the home team and needs to finish 6-6, which is doubtful. [Notre Dame] would be at the top of their list to replace the Black Knights to face the runner-up from the MWC, likely Boise State or San Diego State. Pinstripe Bowl in New York City — The Big 12's slot might come open as it looks like they will struggle to have a 6-6 team for this game against the runner-up from the AAC, likely Rutgers or Central Florida. Heart of Dallas Bowl — The Big Ten needs Iowa or Indiana to win six in order to have a team for this New Year's Day game played in the Cotton Bowl. The Irish have a long and storied history of playing in this grand stadium, but would Jack Swarbrick/Brian Kelly want to play a second game in Dallas this year — against a CUSA team like North Texas, no less? ADV100 Bowl in Shreveport —Although this would be highest payout of the non-BCS games mentioned above, the destination is the least desirable, especially after the 1997 experience during the 27-9 loss to LSU. This game might come open to Notre Dame because the SEC may not have enough teams to fill its slot for this game or the BBVA Compass Bowl game in Birmingham.
