JUDGMENT CALLS The best and the rest from Penn State's loss to the Buckeyes PLAYER OF THE GAME Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller did to Penn State exactly what he's done to so many other teams the past two seasons. He made one dynamic play after another en route to the Buckeyes' dominating 63-14 win at the Horseshoe. PLAY OF THE GAME With four minutes left to play in the third quarter, Ohio State backup QB Kenny Guiton slipped into the end zone, giving the No. 4-ranked Buckeyes a 56-7 lead over the Nittany Lions and, more important, setting the record for most points scored against PSU in the modern era of college football. STAT OF THE GAME Ohio State's 414 firsthalf yards, including 210 on the ground, demonstrated the Buckeyes' complete dominance against an outmatched, underperforming Penn State defense. BEST PASS As if Ohio State needed another score, Miller's 25-yard touchdown strike to Corey Brown at end the first half was on the money, giving the Buckeyes a 42-7 lead at halftime. BEST CATCH At the end of the first quarter, Ohio State safety C.J. Barnett picked off Hackenberg's pass at the Buckeyes' 47-yard line while backpedaling. Seven plays later Ohio State scored its third touchdown of the night. BEST RUN Miller's 39-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. On a designed run, Miller burst through a hole on the right side and followed receiver Jeff Green's block directly into the end zone. The play gave the Buckeyes an early 14-0 lead. BEST SACK Defensive end Anthony Zettel blew up Miller in the backfield for a 6yard loss midway through the first quarter. BEST HIT Ohio State defensive end Noah Spence completely blindsided Hackenberg at the end of the first quarter, causing a fumble that was recovered for an 11-yard loss. BEST EFFORT In a game that seemed to be over before it even began, the play of running back Bill Belton will likely be unjustly overlooked. He provided a steady presence in the backfield most of the game. WORST EFFORT By the time Miller connected with wideout Chris Fields for a 3-yard touchdown in the middle of the second quarter, which gave the Buckeyes a 28-0 lead, Penn State's defense looked more than just confused. MOST TELLING MOMENT After Zach Zwinak coughed up his third fumble of the season – which led to Dontre Wilson's 26yard touchdown reception on the ensuing Buckeye drive – the junior running back sat alone on a water cooler. Meanwhile, an equipment manager fixed the helmet that he had bashed on the ground just minutes earlier. – NATE BAUER Get 15% OFF each time you visit your student Li n Co io untry L odging n .com .c lioncountrylodging.com PE ParentNN STATE Discoun t Plan o c t o b e R 2 6 , 2 0 1 3 4 b l u e w h i t e o n l i n e . c o m
