football recruiting prospect, the No. 8 recruit in Illinois, the No. 5 tight end in the country and the No. 201 overall player in the land. Notre Dame was the first school to offer Weishar, and that's a moment he will never forget. "I was with my coach and some teammates, and then my coach told me to call [offensive coordinator] talk weekly about school, life and family, and they rarely discuss football. "Coach Martin is an incredible person, and I really look at him as family," Weishar noted. "He's been recruiting me for so long, and he's just one of the best people that I've been able to meet during this recruiting process. He genuinely seems to care about me, Chuck Martin at Notre Dame," Weishar detailed. "I figured it was just to chat and he was checking up on me, but then he told me I had an offer and that they wanted me to play for Notre Dame. "I couldn't believe it. I don't remember saying much after that. I was just shocked. It was a crazy feeling and maybe the coolest moment of my life." Since that point, Martin and Weishar have continued developing an extremely close relationship. The two he wants me to do great things with football and in life, and he's a big part of why I'm going to Notre Dame. "It's even better that he'll be my coach when I get up there. He runs the offense, and I think I could do great things in his offense at tight end." Weishar recently attended the Oct. 19 matchup between Notre Dame and USC.
