for a violation of team rules on Nov. 13, Ruth did not wrestle for Penn State's opening weekend. His timetable for return is indefinite. 3 The schedule. At media day, Sanderson gave props to associate head coach Cody Sanderson for his scheduling efforts this past offseason. Cody is responsible for arranging the Bryce Jordan Center match and booking Oklahoma State (Feb. 16). Penn State will also visit Boston University (Dec. 6), whose program was in danger of being disbanded a year ago. "We heard they were in trouble, possibly, of being dropped, and we just asked if there was anything that we could do," Cael Sanderson explained. "Boston's coach asked if we could come wrestle them, and we said OK. I have been told – whether it is true or not – that they will sell out their arena for that. " The scheduling quirks, however, have come at a cost. There will be no Penn State Open this year, although the event may return in the future. There also will be no "Blue-White" Intrasquad Dual. Instead, Sanderson will use early-season open tournaments to decide the undetermined weight classes. While the Nittany Lions' schedule will have a new look, don't worry, the usual suspects remain. And that's what makes the regular season so daunting. Entering his fifth season in University Park, Sanderson has yet to lead the Nittany Lions to an undefeated dual-meet record. And the road doesn't get any smoother. Penn State will face three of the top five teams in the country in Iowa (Dec. 21), Minnesota (Feb. 9) and Oklahoma State in dual meets, and the Big Ten has eight squads ranked among the top 15. "Getting Oklahoma State to come in here is great for our program," Sanderson said. "That is the most talked-about dual that we have here this year. They have always had a lot of tough Pennsylvania kids in their lineup."
