Brandon Taylor down screen and seal,
Graham Woodward off the screen,
punch and pop. Three points.
A perfectly executed play, just the way
head coach Patrick Chambers designed
it.
"I just put a freshman in the game for
the very first time, he comes off a down
screen and drills a 3," Chambers said,
smiling. "When's the last time you saw a
freshman do that?
"It's been a while."
The shot was the only one that the true
freshman guard from Edina, Minn., attempted in the nine minutes of action he
saw in his first regular-season college
game, a 74-62 victory against Wagner.
But it was preceded by a 3-of-4 showing
from beyond the arc in Penn State's exhibition win over Northwood and a teamhigh 18-point outburst during the squad's
European trip in August, so the buried 3pointer was not exactly a surprise.
